“Strengthening the provision of social services for the most vulnerable groups in Kosovo in response to COVID-19” aims to support the availability and access to quality social services for girls, boys, women and men living in vulnerable situations, especially those in socio-economic situations. at risk, victims of violence, domestic violence or human trafficking, elders, children and adults living with disabilities, while linking to the strategic goal of the state to decentralize social services and strengthen the network of quality and standardized social service providers (NGOs).
About the project
People living in the most unfavorable conditions and environment require urgent attention during a pandemic crisis. Flexible, affordable and quality social services are key to alleviating the pressures of the great global crisis of our time. The overall goal of the project “Strengthening the provision of social services for the most vulnerable groups in Kosovo in response to COVID-19” is to increase the availability of high quality and affordable social services through an independent funding mechanism for NGOs providing social services. services in Kosovo for the most vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities.
Our project is based on three main components:
- Providing funding for third parties in the form of subsidies for at least 45 local NGO social service providers,
- Providing capacity building exercises for social service providers with the overall goal of improving service quality and ensuring long-term sustainability after project completion, and
- An advocacy and awareness-raising campaign to make people, especially those in rural and remote areas, aware of the importance of social services and to inform the public about the availability of services and how to use them.
